Chocolate Friend

4 more days until Christmas!

I managed to get some crafting done this past weekend and wanted to share it with you.  I ordered this stamp set from Stampin' Up! a while ago and finally inked them up for the first time.  I think it was from one of their mini catalogues.  Needless to say I'm a chocolate lover and had to have this set because I also enjoy giving it away.  Here's the first card that I made...

Card Materials & Tools: Stampin' Up: Early Espresso, Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock, Eat Chocolate Stamp Set, Stamping Sponge, Paper Snips, Scallop Edge Border punch, Chocolate Chip Ink and Craft White Ink, Michaels: Brown Ribbon, Tim Holz: White Gel Pen, Brazzill White Diamond Cardstock.

If you're interested in where you could buy some of my cards they are being sold in Kitchener, Ontario at The Bead Boutique (http://www.facebook.com/#!/TheBeadBoutiqueKitchener).  The owner Jess is really nice and liked my cards so they'll be there for a little while.  She has a photo album of the cards I gave her on the facebook page.

Thanks for reading and have a very Merry Christmas!

Blessing Mini

I'm still here!

Yes, it has been 3 months since my last blog.  I do have a good excuse for not being around though... I had a Baby Girl!  She's my first and it's been a very busy few months, so busy that I have not had any time to do any crafting.  Even when I received my big Stampin' Up! order!  I had just enough time to put my clear mount stamps together, get out some of my papers and well that was it.  I figured the crafting could wait since she'll be little for only a short period of time.  Even now at almost three months I could tell she's gotten bigger, I don't want to miss a second with her.  I know I'll have all the crafting time I want when she gets a little older.

I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner : )  I do have a really simple little card I made this past summer for a special friend who's second baby had her blessing.  We bought her a little statuette and this is the card I made to go with it.

Card Materials & Tools: Stampin' Up: Regal Rose, Melon Mambo and Whisper White Cardstock, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Michaels: Ribbon, Clear Rinestone and Creative Memories: Flower Punch.

I'll be back to write more about my cards and where they are being sold as well as more about my baby.

Thank you for dropping by!  Have a super week!

Birthday Whale

G'morning!  Where did last month go?!?  And the summer!  I hope you all had a chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the sun.  As much as I enjoy the summer, I love seeing the autumn colours : )  The bright reds, oranges and yellows, nature looks soo pretty during the fall.

For the past month and a half the roof at the apartment building we live in has been getting replaced.  I am soo glad they are almost done!  The early morning banging and drilling, the smell, the leaks, I'm definitely not going to miss it.

Here is another card I made using the silhouette.  I think the whale is really cute and it was themed to go with a couple of marineland tickets.

And the images I used on this card: Wave Border, Whale and Happy Birthday.

Stampin' Up! has a new Holiday Mini Catalogue if you're interested in looking at some of their new products.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Mr. Happy Birthday Card

This blog is long over due!  I have exciting news to share with you today.  I purchased a Silhouette!  I had been looking into purchasing a die cutting machine since last year but couldn't bring myself to spending the money and I couldn't decide between a Shilouette or Cricut.

There are so many cute images from Cricut and after seeing the hundreds of online videos, it looks really easy to use.  The only draw back for me was that the cartridges take up space; something I don't have much of.  Also I love watching Robyn's video's over at My Pink Stamper, she makes it look like fun.

I found another blogger Nichol Magouirk who's made Silhouette videos.  She does wonders with her scrapbooking layouts.  And after asking her about the die cutting machine she said she's had a cricut before but preferred the Silhouette.  So I figured I couldn't go wrong with either machine.

One day I stumbled upon a kijiji ad for a Silhouette, it was in the price range I was looking for and close by.  I jumped on the deal which was posted in the morning and by the evening, I had it in my hands.  The seller was super nice and gave me cardstock too.

Since then I have created a couple of birthday cards and a mini scrapbook.  They have tons of online images to choose from and they only cost from $.50 to $1.99 each. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to using it when I scrapbook.... now if the Cricut drops in my price range, I might just have to pick that up too ; )

This is the first card I made with the Silhouette.  I remember reading the Mr. Men™ and Little Miss™ books by Roger Hargreaves when I was young so the images were nostalgic (for me and my Husband).

Here are the images I used on this card Mr. Happy and Clouds with loopies

Thanks for stopping by!  And have a great weekend!
If you're in Canada, I hope you saw some beautiful fireworks yesterday : )  Happy Canada Day!

Candy Wrappers

Hi and thank you for stopping by.  Unfortunatly I haven't been in my craft room for a few weeks.  However I did find a little something I could share with you that I did about a year ago.  For my Sister's baby shower I made little gift bags for everyone who attended.  Here are the candy wrappers I made using Stampin' Up's Fox and Friends stamp set with the inspiration of the mini catalogue.

Have a great weekend!

Valentine's Day Alice

Hi and thanks for dropping by!  For today's card, I used Bugaboo's digital stamps, the Storybook collection and I was able to come up with this Valentine's day card. Alice has glittery shoes and a shiny bow while Cheshire the cat carries a mini Valentine of his own. And because everyone loves a gift, I've attached a pencil to the backside of the card. I hope you like it : )

Have a fabulous weekend! And a happy family day on Monday.

pregaPeep

Happy Valentines Day!  There are many ways you could show your loved ones how much you love them and it certainly doesn't have to fall on February the 14th.  However if you like the excuse to buy chocolates and flowers for someone, why not?  No matter what you're doing on that day I hope you know that you are loved.

Ice cream and pickles anyone?  When I saw this stamp at last year's Scrapfest I snatched it right away.  It's super cute and fun : )  Enjoy!

Thanks for popping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Fast & Fabulous

Happy New Year!  Last year was the year of the Tiger and this year, the Rabbit!  When I was younger we use to celebrate the new year but now that I'm older it's more of a celebration in my heart then a party.  Jamie did take me out for dinner at Ben Thanh which was super yummy : )

Today's card was made using Fast and Fabulous by Stampin' Up!  It's a little different from the other cards I've made; I tend to use happy cartoon images.  I used white post-it notes to for masking, I got that tip from Amy R, she has lots of tips if you're just getting started with card making.

Thanks for popping by!  Have a great day!

Birthday Bella & Her Wall of Memories

I love photos.  I don't know exactly when in my life I discovered my love for photos but I'm glad I did.  Capturing an image also captures that moment of time; one which will never happen again.  This is the reason so many people spend thousands of dollars on photography whether it's for a wedding, birthday or just to have family photos.  Of course this doesn't mean you only want to dwell on the past but to remember the special moments in your life and document you and the one's around you.

This is one of the reasons why I enjoy scrapbooking; I can enjoy the moment all over again when ever I want.

A lot of us have photos somewhere in the home and some even hanging on the wall, this was the inspiration of my card.  I used a couple of Stamping Bella stamps and a couple from Stampin' Up! Enjoy!

Thanks for popping by!  Have a fabulous weekend!

Monkey Valentine

Valentine's day is around the corner and I wanted to make something special for my husband.  We usually celebrate valentines day like any other day, a homemade meal and a movie.  One year we had a couple of friends join us and I made a chocolate fondue, homemade pizza and we watched the Notebook, it was fun : )  Do you do anything special for Valentine's day?

For today's card I used the monkey from the Fox and Friends stamp set by Stampin' Up! She's doing a cartwheel on this card, showing him she's head over heals in love ~ cheesy eh? lol

Have a fantastic weekend!  Thanks for dropping by!

Relax And Rejoice Anya

As I reflect back on last year and remember the many events that happened I can't help but think a big part of my year was spent watching movies with my family and friends. My husband enjoys a good flick as much as I enjoy creating cards! He posted his top 10 movies here.

I don't have a top 10 but these are the movies I really enjoyed.
Eat Pray Love
How to Train your dragon
The Social Network
Legend of the Guardians

Do you have a favourite movie that was released last year? Or maybe a movie you're looking forward to seeing this year? I'm looking forward to seeing: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, X-Men: First Class, Green Lantern, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and I'm sure there's more.

Today's card makes me smile when I look at it. It's a girly girl card and it's all about me time. I hope you're all getting some me time whether it's suggling up with a book, walking your best friend, or crafting! ... it can only energize you and make you feel good.  I used another TGF stamp I purchased last fall. I hope you like it!

Have a Wonderful weekend!
BTW, it's finally winter in Mississauga!  Bundle up if you're in the neighbourhood : )

McSplendid Farm Birthday

It's hard to believe the holidays are officially over.  I had Monday off but Jamie didn't so after meeting him for lunch at Swiss Chalet (soooo yummy!) I enjoyed the afternoon at the Dixie outlet mall.  It was perfect timing, as it was the last day for some fantastic boxing day sales!  I'm talking 80% off the regular price! I got a bag of Jacob clothing, a pair of shoes and a new cupcake punch by EK Success... wherever there's a Michaels I can't resist stopping in and picking up a little something.  It was a great last vacation day for me.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday too.

To top off my holiday's I got some awesome comments on my blog that made me smile!  Thanks for leaving some love.  If you've seen the movie "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan you'll understand my "happy" when I saw those comments.

I had a lot of fun with The Greeting Farm's "McSplendid Farm" set, there are a lot of animals included in this one.  I liked how the mouse was originally sitting on the cat's head but since I couldn't make the card work with the cat I moved the mouse to the cow's head... and he appears to be happy there.

You'll be seeing more TGF stamps on my blog throughout the year.  I picked up a bag of them from Scrapalicious back in the fall when they were having their 12 weeks til Christmas sale.

And just because, I thought I'd share a couple more photos I took of the cards I made for my Christmas card orders.  I am working on a few more card orders which I'm excited about.  I'll be showing those to you in the next two months : )

Have an Awesome week!  And thanks for dropping by : )
